Autumn Snowflake Overview

A genus of bulbous perennial flowering plants in the Amaryllidaceae family, native to Europe and North Africa this genus contains 9 species. They have narrow, grass-like leaves and dainty bell-shaped, white (occasionally pale pink) flowers that resemble those of the related genus Galanthus (snowdrops). Commonly known as autumn snowflakes, they are often cultivated as rock garden plants in well-drained soil and full sun.
