Variegated Ginger Overview
This ginger lily's lance-shaped mid-green leaves have striking white variegation in the form of streaks in an irregular herringbone pattern along the leaf vein. In the summer, short pendent racemes or pale pink tabular bracts are produced, from which emerge the small white 'true' flowers. Also known as Alpinia sanderae.
How to propagate Variegated Ginger
Sow the seeds as soon as they are ripe.
Divide the rhizomes in the spring.
Other uses of Variegated Ginger
Grown mainly for foliage interest but also for the flowers.
