Cobra lily Overview
A superb dwarf species from N.E China that produces a striking emerald green spathe broadly lined with white in summer and small orange fruit in autumn. Will grow in almost any garden soil, but best in humus enriched loam in light shade. One of the most northerly, hardy plants in the genus.
How to propagate Cobra lily
Plant tubers 15cm deep and mulch with organic matter in winter.
Other uses of Cobra lily
Grown for the large, curious, hooded spathes, each enclosing a pencil-shaped spandex.
