Also known as blanket flowers, this genus contains around 24 annual and short-lived perennials. They produce bright, daisy-like flowers in colours of red, orange, yellow or combinations of these colours, usually with purple, red-brown or yellow, hairy centres. This genus has been developed, with multiple cultivars produced for ornamental use, some are bushier, others with larger or longer-lasting flowers.
