Agapanthus 'Balmoral' Overview

Agapanthus 'Balmoral' is an evergreen clump forming plant that produces charming dark violet-blue star-shaped flowers that form a rounded head standing tall above lush green strappy leaves. Each individual flower petal has a darker-blue mid-rib contrasting strikingly. African Lily 'Balmoral' gives a lovely summer display, looking especially stunning as part of a Mediterranean or mixed planting scheme. In colder areas it will happily grow in large containers that can be moved undercover during the winter months. Like Goldilocks, Agapanthus like their growing space to be just so. Contra to popular wisdom, Agapanthus do not like to be overcrowded in their pots; however they also take a while to establish if planted up into too large spaces. As a rule of thumb, pot on every two years using a gritty multipurpose mix.
