Excellent wines, knowledgeable staff, beautiful gardens, delicious food. Lovely place to spend the entire day with family and friends. Also kid friendly. ...BUT on my last visit, the bill was incorrect, double charged on items, so check your bill especially if in a large group.

We hosted my daughter's baby shower picnic in the Camphor Forest. The reception and preparation that Vergelegen welcomed us with, was exceptional and commendable. From when we arrived we only received the best service from Stephanie, the manageress and Tyler, the waiter. So was everything we experienced and enjoyed there. The picnic food was gourmet, the service impeccable, the setting magical! I cannot recommend this highly enough. Thank you Vegelegen and staff, for making this event extraordinary and a day to remember!

This beautiful, rambling wine estate is as famous for its stately ancient trees as for its magnificent interiors and mountainous surrounds. History-lovers will be fascinated by the estate's stories of the colonial days, as well as its place as a gathering point after the dawn of democracy. Take a walk on the forest trail, and linger for a meal at the excellent Stables restaurant.

One of the most beautiful gardens in the greater Cape Town region. Comprises of 18 unique gardens of varying sizes and layouts with plenty of shade and benches to relax on. It's relatively large so it appears quiet even on busy days. Nice play area for children and some interesting history to be found regarding slavery. The library now serves as a museum and is worth visiting. Entrance fee is only R10/adult.

I am only rating the location and play area! I am not rating the reestaurant or wine. I went there due to the play area. My boy loved it (two years old). There are tables and a patch of grass next to the play area (Nice shady). Unfortunately there is no shade on the play area. Kids Play in the sun. Location is awesome. A lot of space to walk. Even a little forest.
