About the garden

The Sculpture Park in Churt is a perfect destination for photographers and fans of modern art, with 10 acres of delightful and inspiring sculptures at the heart of the Surrey Hills. It’s a real hidden gem - a tardis-like site that reveals magical woodland landscapes and tranquil reflecting pools beyond the garden gates.

There are an abundance of dramatic photo opportunities scattered throughout the grounds here, and it’s simply down to the visitor to decide which way to capture them. A giant tarantula hanging over the path, a charming folly nestled atop a waterfall and myriad other eclectic pieces from national and international artists which reflect the owners’ love of art and sense of humour.

The sculptures aren’t the only inhabitants of these gardens, and you’ll find plenty of wildlife here, too, with an arboretum and thousands of plants and bulbs putting on a show each year. Two miles of paths lead through woodlands and over heathland, in a valley with spring-fed lakes. If you’re taken by the pieces on display here, many sculptures are available for sale, and for those looking for something at the lower end of the budget, there’s also a great gift shop.

Set in a gorgeous woodland with interconnected ponds and streams this sculpture park is a must see. It's packed with an eclectic mix of sculptures that blend into the landscape. Don't forget to look up! Allow at least two and half hours for this treat. Bring a picnic there are plenty of places to stop and eat whilst surrounded by strangeness. Options to buy the art. Disabled access is limited, but a special trail has been set up to give some insight into the whole parks potential. If the pub opposite was open (which will be soon!) then this would be even better experience.

What an absolutely fantastic place! I wandered there for several hours, and still haven't seen all there is. This is, I think, a National treasure.... Quite magical. So glad I got to visit, and hope to visit again, but as suggested; would avoid when large numbers of kids are likely- it's best appreciated when quiet.

A wonderful place packed full of art. You could definitely spend half a day here. We had a push chair and asked for the accessible route and we were sent on the yellow one which turned out not to be accessible however we managed to lift the pram and transverse our way up and down the steps and windy paths much to our amusement! We did then find the green accessible route and very much enjoyed viewing the large array of sculptures on offer. You are welcome to park at the pub and nip out to it for lunch and come back. We ended our trip at the pub with a lovely cider and a g&t! Worth a visit ,only reason it's not 5 starts is we felt it was slightly more expensive than we felt it was worth as we couldn't access the blue or red trail.

Absolutely loved our day out here. There is something around every tree, Bush, bench...I could have stayed there all day and can't wait to go back. There is also a fab pub across the road so have a mid point break and come back to enjoy more

Beautiful place, peaceful and full of marvels. To many highlights to list. My only regret is that there aren't more seating areas / picnic tables / green patches for picnics but other than that it's an idyllic place for a wander of the mind as well as for the body.
