About the garden

A nature lover’s dream, our stunning 300 acre grounds are a haven for peace and tranquillity. With immaculate Formal Gardens in varied styles including; contemporary art and unique water features. During the spring and summer, resident guests can also enjoy the Walled Garden, a secluded outdoor space with plenty of armchairs to enjoy a drink or an afternoon nap.

For more adventurous visitors, borrow one of our bikes or segways grab yourself a map and explore our woodland trails and surrounding Hertfordshire countryside.

The rooms were spectacular, and the tea room was very british; which I enjoyed coming from America. I loved the food they served in the tea room, and the breakfast buffet. I would give it five stars but when I went to take a shower, the hot water burned my back. I definitely recommend staying here if you like a quiet place away from the city, but if you don't like getting burnt, feel the water with your hands in the shower before you go in.

Amazing staff and a wonderful hotel not just for golfers! It was raining; they organised a buggy for us to ride to the cafe on the other side of the complex. Amazing gardens!! Highly recommend a visit! Cafe is open for non-members too but make sure you call before and reserve a table.

Had a charming dinner at the Glasshouse, Grove Hotel. Decor and surroundings are fantastic, the wall art built from cutlery a particular wow factor piece. Food was very good at a 4/5. Will be back to try the other resturants and a better walk around the grounds. Highly recommend.

Excellent service and food, we could not fault it. The only gripe is a minimum of £50 for a cheap bottle of prosecco that cost no more than £15. But that did not spoil the evening. I would recommend the glass house restaurant. You will enjoy the experience.

Gorgeous hotel. I’ve stayed here a few times before but not for 3 years. They have really improved and it’s just a beautiful luxury place to stay. We were upgraded on arrival and the room was gorgeous. Kids club was great so I could enjoy a wonderful massage in the spa. Only downside was The Glasshouse restaurant which is buffet and £56 for an adult, I only had one course , which was good but not amazing so very expensive! And they tried to charge £28 for my 3 year olds dinner, which consisted of a few chips and a small slice of pizza! But they did knock that off when I questioned it. The children’s pool is too small and quite basic. The main pool is gorgeous, it’s a shame they don’t allow children in the main pool for certain hours of the day, or improve the kids pool. Overall a lovely break and great hotel.
