Stunning gardens down in a valley. Not overly large but unusual and beautiful all the same. Worth a visit if in the area. Entrance fee reasonable although Historic Houses members can get in for free. On the outside of the gardens there is a lovely cafe, booking recommended for lunch, but which served beautiful cakes and pastries. The pastries were delicious. Highly recommend a visit to both places.

This was my first visit to the gardens. It was such a magical place and for me as an artist, very inspiring. There is so much to see round the gardens. Would definitely recommend going mid week when it's quiet...that way you can immerse yourself in all its sounds and stillness. Can't wait to go back in a different season to see the changes. There is a little store where you can purchase plants. Also a tearoom and restaurant. We didn't venture into the restaurant but we were very disappointed at the tea room. All the cakes, bar one, had nuts. Only one plant based option. So as I am vegan and my friend has a nut allergy, that was avoided. The gutting thing was, the staff didn't even seem to care. Oh well. Walked into Bradford on Avon to a tea room there and had the most amazing afternoon tea!

Heavenly ❤️ my partner booked a surprise trip here for my birthday and I was blown away. Walking around the gardens in the sunshine made me feel like I was in Tuscany. There are so many beautiful areas to explore and a nice little cafe with some delicious pastries.

We went for the Jazz brunch on the restaurant. Food was very good - I am sure this is the case without the accompanying Jazz (which was perfect - intimate and not too loud). The gardens at Iford are great - fairly steep in places but beautiful with an ancient Roman theme. A lovely spot to take a picnic and sit or explore for a few hours - and dogs are welcome too.

I'd forgotten how good the gardens are at Iford and yesterdays visit was a most welcome reminder. The final part of the drive is down a single track lane but the gardens are well sign posted and there is a decent sized car park too. Although not large the gardens are beautifully laid out and every corner gives you a new vista. There is a definite renaissance influence with lots of Roman and Byzantine statues and architectural touches. There are also a lot of water features which was lovely to both see and hear and the gardens are some of the most serene I have visited in the UK. We probably spent a couple of hours looking round the gardens and then had lunch in the excellent cafe - delicious food and friendly service. All in all it was a wonderful visit and good for the soul.
