About the garden

If you’re anywhere near the beautiful Elgin Valley, this charming and award-winning 4.9-acre paradise, less than an hour away from Cape Town, is a must-see, full of exciting plants.

At Fresh Woods, you will find an eclectic mix of both familiar and unusual planting. Gorgeous Cherry Blossom and elegant Lilies sway gently in the breeze, rare trees and shrubs including Serrata, wild Hydrangeas and Deutzias reside here, over 80 Japanese Maples add interest and masses of Roses – something which the garden is well-known for – bloom among the greenery. Visitors are invited to explore the woodland sheltered by a canopy of Pine and take a leisurely amble through the striking Bamboo walk.

After an enjoyable time in the garden, re-energise with some refreshments and browse the selection of plants for sale in the nursery.
