Cornus mas has amazing flowers in late February to late March. A reliable shrub or small tree.
Its main season of interest is early spring, when small bright yellow ball shape flowers open all along the naked stems, offering vital nectar for bees. These are followed by handsome leaves and red berries. This is fairly easy tree to grown just pop it into a sheltered position preferably alongside shrubs that can take over the show when the Cornus has finished its spring showstopper but not be in competition in the autumn for its next display of great autumn colour.
