Who are Candide? (a brief history)

Candide began in 2017 and has taken on many guises over the years. Throughout each evolution we’ve had a singular mission to allow gardeners and the gardening sector as a whole to take advantage of modern technology and help their businesses prosper.
From our award winning proprietary Plant ID technology, our custom-built Public Gardens admissions system, our unique won’t-find-it-anywhere-else Plant Marketplace to our vibrant Social Network for plant lovers around the world; there is no stone we have left unturned.
The next chapter for Candide is just as exciting… we’re doing it all again, but with a twist. This time around, instead of providing general services to the sector we are focussing on the use cases of our most innovative Garden clients alone. Candide’s renewed impetus is to empower these trail blazers to be all they can be and tap the true potential of the technology we’ve built. These gardens include Babylonstoren in South Africa, The Newt In Somerset in the UK, Vignamaggio in Italy and a few more yet to be revealed (but equally dazzling)! Our clients aren’t your average park walkabout, they are sophisticated, connected, pristine examples of closed-loop farm-to-plate businesses with vast complexity. Our technology runs their membership schemes, manages their restaurants, integrates with their hotel booking and touches just about every part of a visitor’s experience - we even provide their wifi. But Candide’s vision for our clients doesn’t stop there, next up we are revamping their ecommerce engine and building companion native mobile apps to help take their operations to the next level.

Role Description

We have an exciting position for someone with an eye for detail and a passion for data and customer experience. For this position you will need to deeply understand our Customer Relationship Management system (HubSpot) capabilities and its integration with other systems across our estates.
You will need to be the go-to person for anything related to our CRM system. This includes building new workflows and reports, ensuring data integrity in our customer database, and analysing data to make recommendations to our business teams across estates. We’re looking for someone with business savvy as well as technical skills that will assist us to create exceptional customer experiences.

Requirements

  • Degree in an appropriate field of study: Marketing/Business/ IT
  • Minimum 2 year’s work experience – preferably in a sales or marketing environment
  • An exceptional ability on computers
  • Experience in Microsoft Excel
  • Interest in mastering new software systems
  • Strong organisational skills and an attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate well and to advise users on best practises
  • Experience with CRM software (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce) beneficial
  • Experience in basics of data analysis beneficial

Responsibilities

  • Creation of new email workflows
  • Maintenance of existing workflows
  • Design and build of new reports and dashboards
  • Build and manage email templates
  • Set up new users and manage roles and access according to GDPR/POPIA legislation
  • Ensure data consistency and integrity with other internal systems
  • Troubleshoot and solve technical issues with HubSpot team
  • Work with our marketing teams to ensure we are getting the most out of our CRM platform
  • Database cleaning i.e., perform regular checks to maintain health of our database
  • Collaboration with marketing teams across estates to provide CRM support
  • Set up of automations for various internal and external processes
  • Manage and report on short-term projects
  • Train new and existing HubSpot users
