Scarlet Cinquefoil 'Monarch's Velvet' Overview
Potentilla thurberi 'Monarch's Velvet' is a herbaceous perennial from the Rosaceae family. Grown for the attractive red-pink flowers, appearing during the summer. Commonly known as Scarlet Cinquefoil 'Monarch's Velvet', this hardy plant grows best in full sun and well-draining soil. The flowers are saucer-shaped and measure around 2.5cm across, the red-pink colouration becomes darker towards the centre. This cultivar is part of the Royal Horticultural Society “Plants for Pollinators” initiative to showcase plants which support pollinator populations by providing ample amounts of nectar and/ or pollen. A great choice for encouraging pollinating insect wildlife into your garden!
