Chinese Tupelo Overview
Nyssa sinensis is also known by the name Chinese tupelo. It is a slow-growing tree or large shrub species from the Nyssaceae family of flowering trees. Originating from China and Vietnam, this species grows in areas prone to flooding. As a result they are highly tolerant of wet soils. These plants are deciduous and grown primarily for their brilliant autumn colour. Flowers are non-showy, small and coloured green-yellow, leading onto discrete fruits. Grows best in a sheltered, undisturbed site in moist soil.
