Dawn Redwood Overview
Metasequoia glyptostroboides is a deciduous tree species in the Cupressaceae family. This conifer has a vigorous habit, easily growing to 25m in height. It has a narrow, conical shape and this plant produces flattened sprays of narrow leaves. They are pale green in colour, developing to brown-pink and yellow shades in the autumn. Flowers and cones are non-showy, the cones emerge green and develop to a brown colour with age.
