Winter Jasmine Overview
Jasminum nudiflorum is a scrambling deciduous shrub that produces masses of bright yellow star-shaped flowers on bare shoots from November to February. Its long arching branches bear small green leaves that form in spring, following flowering. This popular species - known as Winter Jasmine or Winter-Flowered Jasmine - is good for covering a bare wall (with support) and providing much-needed colour during the winter months. It can also be used as ground cover and is often seen in coastal locations. Jasminum nudiflorum likes a sheltered position in full sun or partial shade, and well-drained soil. It is a hardy, low-maintenance plant that has earned an RHS Award of Garden Merit.
