Spiny Restharrow Overview
Ononis spinosa is a bushy perennial plant from the Fabaceae family. Commonly known by the names Spiny Restharrow or Restharrow. Spiny Restharrow produces pretty pea-like, pink and white flowers in the summer, typically growing to around 45cm tall. It spreads through underground rhizomes. Ononis spinosa produces hairy foliage with hard spines and oval-shaped leaves with toothed margins. Many species in this genus are also known by the common name Restharrows, some are considered weeds. They are found growing naturally across Europe.
