White Dyckia Overview
Genus with around 150 species of rosette-forming succulent perennials, characterised by their large, spiny, spiky foliage, usually grey-green or silvery in colour. They produce distinctive tubular flowers on branched or unbranched spikes that arise from the side of the leaf rosette. These flowers are brightly coloured - yellow or orange. This genus originates from South America and suits a desert, rock, gravel or Mediterranean garden. It may also be grown in colder, wetter climates under glass or as houseplants. This succulent like plant is sometimes sold with the name Dyckia 'Grand Marnier' as the Brazilian native species was named for a scion of the famous Grand Marnier liqueur family also from that region.
