Pansy Orchid Overview
These striking orchids, which are also known as pansy orchids, owing to their similarity to garden pansies, are gaining in popularity. Miltoniopsis are cool-growing orchids that originate in the higher elevations of the Andes in Colombia, Panama and Ecuador. Miltoniopsis Newton Falls is a hybrid of Mps. Hamburg X Mps. Goodnews Bay. They love humidity, so a bright kitchen or bathroom would be ideal, and mist the leaves with water occasionally, especially if they are in a heated room.
Common problems with Pansy Orchid
Red spider mites, mealy bugs and aphids tend to be troublesome especially when grown indoors. Check often for insects and remove from the plants.

Special features of Pansy Orchid
Indoor plant
Bright, but indirect light, they prefer even temperatures, so try not to have big drops at night time, in winter water only occasionally.
Pot plant
These plants do not need to grow in compost, but if potting up, use a specialist orchid compost or bark chips, water by soaking rather than watering from the top. Use 12,5cm pots.
