Buttonbush Overview

This evergreen shrub grows up to 2 m tall and has slender branches with flower clusters on the tips resembling creamy white to yellow balls. Flowering from winter to spring, with the flowers and seed heads remaining on the bush for up to 2 years. This decorative garden plant is used widely as a cut flower.

    Seed

    Dust seeds with a fungicide to prevent pre- and post-emergence fungal infections. Sow seeds in Autumn,1.5 times deeper than the size of the seed. Germination takes 6-8 weeks.

    Cuttings

    Plant semi-hardwood cuttings in late summer, autumn or spring, in 50/50 rooting medium of milled bark and polystyrene. Cuttings are not as successful as seeds.
