Strawberry 'Ostara' Overview
Fragaria × ananassa 'Ostara' or Everbearing Strawberry 'Ostara' is one of the earlier fruiting strawberry cultivars and will repeat fruit with sweet tasting bright red berries from early summer. This perennial with a spreading habit can be grown in raised beds, hanging baskets or trained to climb making it an all-round useful fruit plant for the edible garden, no matter how small. Water and feed throughout the growing season to ensure a good crop, and clear away old leaves and unwanted runners after the fruit has been picked. Replacing the plants every three years by taking runners will help ensure vigorous and health plants.
