Baneberry 'Brunette' Overview

Actaea simplex 'Brunette' (Atropurpurea Group) is a hardy deciduous perennial that produces tall upright flowers stems of heavily scented white flowers in late summer into autumn. These striking flower spires are contrasted deliciously above a mound of purple leaves and stems creating a stunning display later in the season. Also known with the common name of Baneberry 'Brunette' this plant is occasionally sold under its old botanical classification of Cimicifuga 'Brunette'. Actaea 'Brunette' suits being grown in moist partial shade and needs little maintenance apart from spent foliage being removed in late autumn or early spring and a mulch layer of well rotted garden compost or animal manure.
