Linnaea schumannii is a semi-evergreen shrub with a spreading habit. Lilac pink, funnel-shaped flowers bloom during the summer and autumn on red-purple stems. This species was historically classified as Abelia, this genus is no longer recognised, all species once included within it have been moved to the genus Linnaea.
