Abelia 'Hopleys' Overview
Linnaea × grandiflora 'Hopleys' is a hybrid plant cultivar created from a cross between the species L. chinensis and L. uniflora, all of which have been reclassified. Historically they were included in the genus Abelia and this name is still commonly used. They are cultivated for their attractive foliage and profusion of flowers. This semi-evergreen cultivar is known for its stable variegated foliage, it is a compact and semi-evergreen shrub. The leaves are bright green with pale yellow edges that fade to a white in spring. In the autumn the leaves turn pink and slightly scented, lilac-white flowers grow in clusters.
