Balloon Vine Overview
Cardiospermum halicacabum is herbaceous or deciduous climbing, perennial, shrubby vines species, grown predominantly for the fruits and their foliage. It is native to tropical regions of America, India and Africa, found commonly growing as a weed alongside rivers and roads. Flowers are small, whitish and have unequal petals. The genus name Cardiospermum references the heart-shaped seed casing and bicoloured seeds which display a light-coloured heart shape.
