Russelia Overview

This genus of flowering evergreen or deciduous shrubs is found in many parts of the world and is a member of the plantain family. They are commonly known as firecracker plants or coralblows because of their arching stems of tubular flowers in shades of red, pink or white. They are popular in cultivation as they are dense, vigorous upright shrubs and can be used to quickly cover unattractive walls. Their flowers also attract pollinating insects.
