Spider flower Overview
Cleome contains over 200 herbaceous annual and perennial shrubs and plant species naturally distributed across tropical and warm temperate locations around the world. Commonly known as spider flowers, the 4-petalled flowers are normally purple, pink, yellow or white and have 6 long stamens. Cultivation has resulted in a range of cultivar species, mostly for ornamental garden use, but one species is used as a vegetable crop.
