Downy hawthorn Overview
A deciduous tree from central USA. Leaves are broad and shallowly lobed and downy on both surfaces. In early summer bears clusters of yellow-white flowers, followed by deep red, cherry-looking fruit. It has been in cultivation for a long time, and is one of the best of the North American hawthorns.
