Garden Croton Overview

Codiaeum variegatum var. pictum is an evergreen perennial species that is frequently grown indoors as a colourful foliage houseplant. Commonly known by the name Garden Croton. It has leathery leaves - with variable width down their length - that are brightly coloured and heavily veined in shades of red, orange, yellow, gold and green. It grows best with ample humidity and this species is well placed in a bright conservatory, but should be kept out of direct sunlight, instead preferring bright, indirect sunlight and plenty of warmth. An east or west facing window is perfect. This tender species makes a fantastic houseplant, brightening up any room. Flowers are tiny, white or yellow, star-shaped and may appear during the summer months. Toxic if ingested.
