Iochroma Overview

Iochroma is a genus of deciduous or evergreen shrubs and small trees in the Solanaceae family native to the forests of South America containing 23 accepted species. They have simple oval, pointed leaves and colourful tubular or trumpet-shaped flowers. Commonly cultivated species include Iochroma australe, grown usually as a patio container specimen, for its attractive dark lavender-blue flowers.
