Kangaroo Apple Overview

Solanum laciniatum is a large evergreen shrub that can reach 3m or more in height, with a spread of around 2m. It has mid green, lance-shaped or pinnately lobed leaves and produces light purple-light blue flowers in summer. Flowers measure around 5cm across and have roughly triangular petals. Flowers develop into orange-yellow coloured, egg-shaped fruits in winter.

Common problems with Kangaroo Apple

Can be attacked by red spider mite and aphids. It can also suffer from grey moulds.
