Disporopsis Overview
This genus originates from China, Southeast Asia and the Philippines, and contains around 8 rhizomatous, evergreen perennials. They produce waxy foliage and hanging bell-shaped white or sometimes yellow flowers, either on their own or in pairs, branching off leaf stems. The inner petal surface of these flowers is sometimes patterned or speckled with contrasting bright colours such as purple or red. They are similar in appearance to Polygonatum, but differ by the presence of a corona (a cup-shaped outgrowth at the centre of the flower).
