Spider Plant Overview
Chlorophytum is a genus containing around 197 species of evergreen, stemless perennial plants from the Asparagaceae family, known commonly as Spider Plants. They have fleshy tuberous roots, and originate from tropical and subtropical locations in Africa, Australia and Asia. Growing between 10–60 cm high, they are very popular houseplants for their pretty 15–75 cm long and up to 2 cm wide foliage and ease of care. Flowers are small, white and borne on long stalks, up to 120 cm long, in the summer.
