Ponytail Palm Overview
This genus is native to Mexico and Central America. It contains less than 10 evergreen species of small, xerophytic, tropical trees. The leaves are long and leathery with serrated margins, protruding from an unbranched stem that thickens at the base (caudex). An abundance of green-white flowers are produced only on older trees.
