Vallea Overview
There are only two species in this genus of trees originating from the Andes mountain range. One of these, Vallea stipularis, has been grown in cultivation since the early 20th Century but due to its frost-tenderness has not become common. The only other member of this genus, Vallea ecuadorensis, was discovered in 1988 in Ecuador.
