Peace Lily Overview
Spathiphyllum floribundum is an evergreen perennial species in the arum family, Araceae. Also commonly known by the names Peace Lily or Snowflower. This attractive plant has a tufted habit and produces lance-shaped, shiny leaves with long pointed tips, up to 15cm long. It also has green-white flowering spathes, which measure around 8 cm in length. Native to northwestern South America, this is an attractive foliage plant that tolerates neglect well. It is a popular houseplant due to its preference to a shady location, it adapts well to growing indoors but will flower better with increased light. It is also thought to absorb certain contaminants very effectively from the air. Mildly toxic to humans and animals on ingestion and foliage can irritate the skin.
