White Sails Peace Lily Overview
Spathiphyllum wallisii is an evergreen perennial species in the arum family, Araceae. Also commonly known as a Peace Lily, this attractive species produces lance-shaped, shiny leaves and white flowering spathes. Flowers measure approximately 15cm in length and range from pure white to cream to green-tinged. Native to the tropical rainforest regions of the Americas, this plant can naturally be found in Colombia and Venezuela. This species is an attractive foliage plant that tolerates neglect well. It is a popular houseplant due to its preference to a shady location. Though it is well adapted to growing indoors, it will flower better with increased light. It has also been found to absorb certain contaminants very effectively from the air.
