Large periwinkle Overview
This is a useful species for ground cover in mild or cool climates. The leaves are glossy, dark green and the flowers are held above the foliage on ascending stems. Stems without any flower are prostrate and will form a good ground cover in moist shady conditions. There is a variegated form of this plant which is popular for use in hanging baskets and containers.
