Honesty Overview

Lunaria is a genus comprising just 3 species of annual, biennial or herbaceous perennial flowering plants in the Brassicaceae family. They are native to Central and Southern Europe but naturalised in non-native habitats elsewhere. Known as Honesty, some species are commonly cultivated as garden plants for their attractive triangular or heart-shaped toothed leaves, spikes of 4-petalled flowers and especially for their disc-shaped translucent seed pods that are popular in flower arrangements.

How to propagate Honesty

Seed the perennials in autumn or spring. undefined Self seeds prolifically.

Division in spring, biennials by seed only.

Other uses of Honesty

Grown for their flowers which can be used in arrangements, and silvery seed pods.
