Tamarisk Overview
Genus with around 57 deciduous or evergreen trees and shrubs. They produce profuse swathes of small flowers and attractive feathery foliage and are also grown for their growth habit and overall appearance. Leaves overlap, they are scale-like and resemble those of junipers. This genus is well suited to hedging as it thrives in exposed, coastal environments and is resistant to wind.
