Blue amaryllis Overview
The bulb has a long neck and a few strap-shaped leaves. In mid winter, a short-stemmed cluster of large, trumpet-shaped flowers appear. They are frost tender, min 15C, and will need full sun with well drained soil, or compost mixed with osmunda fibre, perlite or bark chips and some leaf mould. Propagation is by seed in the spring.
