English Yew Overview
Taxus baccata is an evergreen tree species in the Taxaceae family. Commonly known by the names English Yew, Common Yew, Europen Yew or just Yew, this classic plant has a bushy habit, producing narrow, dark green, needle-like leaves in two rows. Flowers are insignificant but lead onto fleshy red fruits on female plants. This species has earnt a Royal Horticultural Society Award of Garden Merit.
