Electric Daisy Overview
Acmella oleracea is a tender perennial that produces rich yellow daisy-like edible flowers that give you a tingle like a tiny jolt of electricity. Forming mounds of trailing growth, this colourful flower suits being grown in containers as well as in mixed flower beds of kitchen and cottage style gardens. Commonly known as Electric Daisy, Paracress, Sichuan Buttons and Eyeball plant, it is also sometime sold as Spilanthes 'Peek-a-boo' or Acmella 'Peek-a-boo' Acmella oleracea is a native of South America found from Brazil t Argentina and has been used in herbal remedies leading to one of its common names of Toothache Plant. It is often grown as an annual in sunny positions with well-drained, neutral soil.
