Needlegrass Overview

Nassella is a genus in the Poaceae family that has around 114 species, commonly known as Needlegrass. These form clumps of soft green, hair-like foliage with lighter green flowers in summer. Its wispy, flowing foliage makes it a popular choice in areas of dry soil and full sun, especially planted in decorative containers. Nassella plants are also very drought tolerant, native to dry areas of the Southwest US, Mexico, and Argentina.
