Globeflower Overview
A genus of 31 accepted species of evergreen mat-forming perennial plants or subshrubs in the Plantaginaceae family originating from parts of Europe, Africa and Southwestern Asia. Several species are cultivated as ornamental garden plants for their fluffy lavender-coloured flowerheads in Summer. They need very well-drained soil in full sun and do best in a rockery or alpine house where they can be protected from winter wet.
