Hurricane Cactus Overview

Lepismium cruciforme is a flowering perennial cactus from the Cactaceae family. This plant has slender, branched and trailing stems similar to Rhipsalis plants. Typically grown for the foliage, this plant forms succulent, flattened pencil-shaped stems which trail attractively over pot edges. Commonly known as Hurricane Cactus. It is an epiphyte; living on the surface of other plants, growing on trees and gaining nutrients from the air, from rainfall and from accumulated debris around them. Flowers are small and pink-white in colour. This plant is usually grown indoors as a houseplant or glasshouse specimen as they are frost tender and require high humidity and bright but indirect light.
