About the garden

Discover the magic of this beautiful 26 acre Cornish valley garden, with over four miles of footpaths. Explore under canopies bursting with exotic blooms and follow vibrant tunnels of colour that cascade down to its very own secluded beach on the Helford River.

One of the most unusual gardens in Cornwall, this lush valley is home to flowers, trees and wildlife from all over the world. See New Zealand ferns in the Stumpery, South American plants in the Chilean Comb, huge Koi Carp, and 47 types of bamboo in “Bamboozle.” Trebah is colourful throughout the seasons with 100-year-old rhododendrons in spring and hydrangeas in autumn making it ideal for a year-round visit in Cornwall.

The young (and young at heart) will love the otherworldly Gunnera Passage. If you’re after a tranquil moment, head for the Water Garden or Alice’s Seat. The Boathouse Beach Café is perfect for ice cream, and you can browse The Plant Centre if you fancy taking something home.

For an extra special experience, take an audio tour and you’ll meet Head Gardener Darren Dickey and Event Co-ordinator Guy Watson, who take you through some key events in Trebah’s story and share their enthusiasm for this fascinating place.

Fantastic... worth every penny! The weather was perfect for a walk through the botanical gardens although very breezy at the beach it didn't from having a wonderful visit. Staff were friendly and it felt like we were the only ones around despite there being lots of cars in the car park! Had a great time at Trebah, I'll be back with Mum soon

Stunningly beautiful gardens, even on a rainy warm day! We had a wonderful time here and the atmosphere was magical! Nice friendly helpful staff and out of this world bamboos!!! There is a stunning cove too with lush ice cream. I recommend very highly a visit!

Beautiful autumnal gardens. Gentle slopes, even for my 83 year old mother. Plenty of benches to sit and contemplate... Or catch your breath! Spotless cafe with home made delights. Well worth the 6 quid!

This is a fabulous place, absolutely worth the entrance price. The gardens are beautiful, and the walk to the beach is amazing. A special mention to the food in the main cafe that was absolutely delicious!! I usually expect to be scammed in this kind of places, but didn't have a chance to eat elsewhere before, so went for it, and I'm so glad, it was seriously amazing!!

Gardens were as lovely as always. The one way system designed to keep everyone safe was a bit confusing initially and resulted in a few people having to go through no entry signs to get back on the right path, but everyone was good humoured about it and it was easy to move around and enjoy the gardens. The cafe was excellent, delicious food and very friendly staff. Only one niggle and that is that the designated dog friendly seating areas in the cafe, which are great, were all full of non dog families, meaning that a number of disappointed dog owners clearly left Trebah to eat elsewhere. Given the number of dog owners who visit it would be good to think that there could be a solution for everyone.
