Best to go in early spring / summer as the gardens are in bloom and the paths will be drier in places. It's a nice walk for a couple of hours, but that is it. There are toilets onsite and a very limited gift shop at the entrance. There are plans to expand into another part of the area in the future.

One of the smaller national parks however just as amazing and beautiful. The park is located in Macclesfield and privides plenty of parking and wonderful cows as views over the fields. As we park up there is a little shop where we pay/show national trust passes for entry. The little shop sell hot and cold drinks as well as ice cream from snugburys too! Hare Hill is a lovely walk to beautiful gardens and the best play area for children. Where the swing is hung by a tall tree and a strong log as a seat. They have made little houses/huts from wood for the children to play in. Better than the usual parks as it is all natural - the simple things in life are just the best! Gorgeous flowers are bloomed with a large garden free for children to run around in. The park and toilets are clean and benches and picnic tables are located everywhere to eat and relax on. A MUST VISIT!

Lovely place to visit and if you go when the wisteria is in bloom it's a real treat. Just be aware it's not somewhere you'd spend a lot of time at, unless you take a picnic and have it in the walled garden.
