Worth a visit if travelling on M5. House is on timed entry with ticketed time given when checking in. No need to pre book Small pop up cafe serving drinks ice-cream and snacks. Terraced gardens are worth walking around, views get better as you explore. Helpful knowledgeable volunteer's in house. Nice glass collection and original features of medieval manor house.

It is a lovely house still lived in by the Elton family. The room stewards are very friendly and knowledgeable. The garden was fragrant and the flowers started to bloom, which attracted bees, butterflies and flies.

The guides are very informative, just ask them. Not a very big house as it is still lived in by someone, so you can't see all the house (obviously). Only open at certain times and days. It's worth doing tyntesfield house first then come here as these are both national trust. (if you're a member). Not a very colorful garden (may).

Enjoyable visit. Really close to the motor way. Toilets and car park really close to the house. No cafe or shop but not too sure how busy it gets to warrant these facilities
