About the garden

Located on the north coast of Jersey, when this farm was restored in 1972 it became the island’s first commercial vineyard. Since then, the estate has gone from strength to strength, crafting everything from butter to hand sanitiser and vodka, winning several awards for the quality of its produce. Vineyards are not the only attraction here, as there are also cider orchards and lovely gardens adjacent to the house, which are accessible to visitors on the wine tasting tour.

The estate shop is not to be missed, with a wealth of products from not only La Mare, but across the island, and you can even test the produce at the on-site Café. Children will be happy to find that there’s an adventure playground and a treasure hunt with clues throughout the vineyard.

Nice small scenic winery. Tour was good, and also quite boozy: shot of cider, 3 glasses of wine, shot of vodka/brandy/gin, all in quick succession. Seemed like a nice place for lunch outside in the sun, next to the vines. Decent sized ploughman's, but they're missing a trick not including apple on the plate, given their plentiful supply!

Lovely experience. Would recommend it to anyone. We got to taste three different wines, some gin , creamy fudge, black butter, chocolate and shortbread. Guide very informative and entire tour was interesting and fun.

This is a really nice place to go, if you want the tour go for it, our tour guide was very nice, knowledgeable and funny. The cafe is really good, it was a good thing they do not charge you for the tap water because 40 degrees Celsius would have made a nice hole in my bank account. So now to the why not 5⭐️, we went to the shop to buy some gifts and stuff for to take home. We had about a £100 in all we wanted a couple of things gift wrapped. The lady in the store didn’t want to do it lucky for us our tour guide took over and added the service you might expect. So 5⭐️ for our tour guide. Oh I forgot, 5⭐️ for the rooster that walked around the cafe area like he owned the place. He is probable the only living thing on the island that gets its picture taken over a thousand times a day

We booked the tour that lasted around 50 minutes. The tour was interesting and there was quite a lot of tastings cider, wine and brandy or gin. The restaurant was well organised at the time we arrived.

A really enjoyable visit. The guide was knowledgeable and friendly, making the tour a great way to spend a couple of hours! We enjoyed the tasting experience and also spent time in the cafe.
